Anisur Rehman was a star at Petaro. He was a
sportsman, and held the position of College
Captain for the Hockey and
Athletics teams. He was
given the College Colours in both of these sports.
He also attended the Pakistan Hockey Camp at
Lahore in 1964. He was also a boxer and won the
college Bantam Weight Boxing championship and the
Chess championship. In other activities, he was
the President of the college
Philatelic Club.
As a result, he was the first Petarian to be
awarded the Badge of Honour in 1961-62.
After leaving Petaro, Anisur Rehman joined
Pakistan Navy in the Electrical Branch, and was
commissioned in 1969 upon completion of his BSc in
Electrical Engineering. Later on, he also did his
BSc(Hons) in War Studies.
He was recognized for his sports in the Navy as
well, and he represented the Navy team in hockey
and athletics and was awarded colours in both. In
1970, he was selected as the centre half of the
Combined Services Hockey Team.
In 1974, he did his Weapon Engineering Application
Course at Royal Navy Engineering College, Manadon.
During his naval career, he has served on board PN
ships Tipu Sultan, Alamgir, Jahangir and Mahmood.
He was also the Commanding Officer of PNS Karsaz,
and served at General Manager Planning Control &
Development, and General Manager EDP/Quality
Control at Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works.
He was also the Commanding Officer of PNS Jauhar
and Pakistan Navy Engineering College.
Prior to his retirement in the rank of Rear
Admiral, he held the position of Director Ship
Management at PNSC.
After his retirement, he joined the Citizens'
Foundation as the Chief Operating Officer.
Presently, he is the Dy. Managing Director of
Bahria Foundation.
Rear Admiral Anisur Rehman has also been at the
forefront of Petarian activities. He has been the
President of Petarian Association and has been on
its Managing Committee several times.
He presently has his home at Karachi.
