Muhammad Akbar Bugti, kit no. 151/Latif House joined Cadet College Petaro in 1960 and left the college in 1963 after completing his Matric.

He was born on 27 July 1948 and got married to Mrs. Bushra on 8 September 1978. They have three children - Salma, Saad Rehman and Saeed Rehman.

After Petaro, Akbar Bugti joined Sindh University in the Department of Zoology and did his B.Sc. and M.Sc., and finally got his M.Phil in 1972.

His first job was as Assistant Director, Marine Fisheries at Pasni from 1973 to 1976. He then chose to go into the field of education and became a Lecturer at Govt. Degree College, Quetta from 1976 to 1983.

In 1983, he then joined Civil Service and spent two years at the Civil Services Academy at Lahore from 1983 to 1985. In 1986, he was inducted into Income Tax Department. He rose up to become a Commissioner of Income Tax  before his retirement.

He is also famous for having participated in more than 50 dramas in Urdu and Baluchi on PTV from the Quetta centre. Some of the famous dramas in which he participated are "Woh Kaun Hai" (Urdu), "Regbaan" (Urdu), "Metab" (Baluchi), and "Shahaz" (Baluchi).

His family is settled in Quetta.
