Khurshid Ahmed, kit no. 174/Jinnah House joined Cadet College Petaro in 1961 and left the college in 1965 after completing his Intermediate.

He was born on 15 January 1947. He got married to Mrs. Farida on 20 January 1975 and they have three children - Rabia, Bilal and Qasim.

During the 1965 War, Khurshid Ahmed was a Flight Cadet in the PAF Academy which he had joined right after leaving Petaro. He then opted to join Pakistan Army and was inducted in the 39th PMA Long Course in 1966, a year after the Indo-Pakistan War. He was commissioned in 2 Baloch Regiment.  During the 1971 War, he was the Adjutant of 53 Baloch Regiment (now renamed as the 20 Sindh Regiment).

During the course of his career, he has served in various staff, instructional and command assignments. He held the post of Director Training at the GHQ. He was also the Director of the Army Education Press.
