وَلا
تَقُولُوا لِمَنْ يُقْتَلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ
أَمْوَاتٌ بَلْ أَحْيَاءٌ وَلَكِنْ لا تَشْعُرُونَ
And say not of those who are slain in the way of
Allah: "They are dead." Nay, they are living,
though you perceive (it)
not. [Al-Qur'an 2.154]
During his days at Petaro, Saadat Farooq was
appointed the JUO of Liaquat House. He was also
the College Captain for
Shooting, and became a part of the
Famous Forties in 1966.
He excelled in sports at the college and
represented his house in shooting, football,
cricket and basketball. He was declared the best
All Rounder in Sports during his final
year at Petaro.
After leaving Petaro, Saadat Farooq joined
Pakistan Army and excelled at PMA Kakul. He was
commissioned in 1969 and was assigned to the 18th
Punjab Battalion at Sialkot.
He was transferred to East Pakistan in August
1970.
During the East
Pakistan operations starting in March 1971, Saadat
Farooq was diligent in his duties and fought
against the Indian forces who were in the garb of
Mukti Bahini along the Indian border. He escaped
death narrowly several times. Finally, on 26th May
1971, his party was ambushed by the Indian Border
Force which was collaborating with the Mukti
Bahini, and Lieut. Saadat Farooq was martyred at
Chuadanga after fierce fighting along with the
platoon Havaldar Khursheed Khan. He was buried in
Jessore.
Lieut. Saadat Farooq shaheed was awarded the
Sitara-e-Jurat for his gallantry.
May Allah accept his shahadat and grant him the
choicest place in Jannatul Firdaus. |
