After passing out from Petaro, he joined the NED
Engineering College and graduated as a Mechanical
Engineer in 1972. He then decided to sit for the
CSS examination and was selected in 1974. He
joined the Police Services of Pakistan Group in
1975 after combined training at Civil Services
Academy, Lahore.
He served in different capacities throughout
Sindh. His appointments included AIG (Crimes)
Sindh, head of various districts in Punjab and
Sindh, and as DIG of Hyderabad and Larkana
Divisions.
He had his training for the Senior Command Course
at Durham Constabulary UK and Advanced Course in
Administration and Development at NIPA Karachi.
