Aftab A. Memon, kit no.
467/Jinnah House joined Cadet
College Petaro in 1963 in 8th class and left the college in
1969
after completing his Intermediate.
He was born on
19 June 1950 and got married
to Mrs. Naseem on 19 July 1976. They
have 6 children - Mansoor, Kanwal, Khurram
(kit no. 97152), Ali, Usama and Zaki. The family is settled in Karachi.

Aftab graduated as a Mechanical
Engineer from Sindh University in 1973, and then
went on to acquire an LL.B. degree from the same
university in 1981. He also got diplomas in
International Relations, Business Administration,
and Public Administration.
His career has been in public service throughout.
He has served as Director Industries, Deputy
Director (Admin & Finance) of Sindh Environmental
Protection Agency, Director Excise and Taxation in
Sindh, Deputy Commissioner Karachi East, Deputy
Secretary Finance of Sindh, Deputy Commissioner of
Nawabshah and Sanghar districts, Deputy Secretary
SGAD Sindh, Deputy Secretary Schools Sindh, Deputy
Director Food Bahawalpur, Deputy Secretary Local
Government & Rural Development (Punjab), Assistant
Commissioner Lodhran (Punjab), and Assistant
Commissioner Fort Abbas.
Aftab Memon currently holds the position of a Secretary in the Sindh Provincial
Government. He has held different portfolios in this rank. In
the past he has headed the Rice Corporation of
Pakistan, and is currently Chairman of the Export
Processing Zones Authority.
Aftab Memon has been a very prominent member of
the Petarian Association. He was chosen as the
President of the Association twice, during
1993-1994 and then again in 2003-2004. He has been
at the forefront of Association activities throughout. In the
past, he has held different positions in the
Managing Committee of the Association as well.
