Brig.(R) Mukhtar Ahmed

Brig.(R) Mukhtar Ahmed, kit no. 511/Qasim House joined Cadet College Petaro in 1964 in Jinnah House, and was later on transferred to Qasim House in 1967. He left the college in 1969 after completing his Intermediate.

He was born on 2 February 1951 and got married to Mrs. Rubi Zarina Malik on 29 April 1977. They have 4 sons.

Mukhtar is my batch mate (1964-1969), and he is one of the most respected and responsible of Petarians.

During his last year at Petaro, he was appointed the JUO of Qasim House. He was also a member of the Famous Forties that year.

After passing out from Petaro, he joined the Pakistan Army in the 45th Long Course.  During his military career, he rose up through the ranks to become a Brigadier. He finally retired in this rank.

His last posting was as Station Commander, Karachi. Prior to that, he was the Commander of the Training Camp at Murree.

After his retirement, he joined Sui Southern Gas Company in Karachi as the Deputy General Manager for Security and Administration.

Mukhtar has served the Petarian Association, Karachi for several years on different Managing Committees. He has held the posts of Vice-President and Member.

It is an honour for me to be the batch mate of Brig.(R) Mukhtar Ahmed.
