Brig.(R) Abdul Jalil Khan, kit no. 553/Qasim House joined Cadet College Petaro in 1964 in Liaquat House and was transferred to Qasim House in 1967. He left the college in 1969 after completing his Intermediate.

He was born on 30 June 1952 and got married to Mrs. Khalida on 21 January 1983. They have 3 children.

Arshad is my batch mate (1964-1969). During the Petaro years, he was always one of the smallest boys in our class. He was always very gentle and a very amiable person. During his last year at Petaro, he was appointed the Section Leader of Qasim House.

After passing out from Petaro, he joined the Pakistan Army in the 45th Long Course.  During his military career, he rose up through the ranks to become a Brigadier. He finally retired in this rank.

His last position in the Army was as the Deputy Military Secretary (Dy.MS) based in Rawalpindi. His portfolio included the human resource planning and promotion of senior officers. He had done his NDC course, and was tipped to be promoted since he was considered a star and almost a sure shot. It was a disappointment that his name was left out by the selection committee.

When he was superseded, he  was given the job of Administrator of the DHA, Lahore. This appointment led to a second debacle for him. After a couple of years in this position, a great land scam was discovered at DHA Lahore, and Jalil lost his job being the top man. After an inquiry that lasted nearly a year, he was exonerated of any wrong-doing and all charges were withdrawn. He retired from the Army and settled down in Lahore.

Since his retirement, he has been working as the North Region Manager for the Real Air Travel Agency in Lahore..

It is an honour for me to be the batch mate of Brig.(R) Abdul Jalil Khan
