Rear Adm(R) Abrar Hussain

Abrar Hussain, kit no. 585/Jinnah House joined Cadet College Petaro in 1964 in 11th class and left the college in 1966 after completing his Intermediate.

He was born on 13 October 1948 and got married to Mrs. Ismat on 25 August 1972. They have four children - Rabia, Farhan, Usman and Sarah.

After leaving Petaro, Abrar Hussain joined Pakistan Navy in 1966. He then obtained his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Pakistan Navy Engineering College. He also obtained a B.Sc.(Hons) degree and an MS degree from the UK. He attended the PN Staff Course and the marine Engineering Application Course.

During his tenure with the Navy, he was also the Chief Engineer of destroyers and cruisers. He served in the Naval Headquarters in Islamabad, and was also sent on secondment to the UAE Navy. He also served as PSO to the Commander Pakistan Fleet, as Instructor in the PN Engineering College and as the General Manager of the PN Dockyard for Ship Rebuilding and Construction.

He retired in the rank of Rear Admiral and is presently settled at Karachi.
