Qabool Shaikh obtained a B.Sc.(Hons) and an M.Sc. degree
and then went into the study of law. He acquired
an LL.B. degree.
He
went into public service after his graduation. He has served
the Government of Sindh in various capacities.
His first assignment was as Assistant Commissioner
(Executive) in 1974. He was given
magisterial posts as a First Class Magistrate at
Garhi, Yasin, and Karachi.
In 1988, he was promoted to Grade 18 and posted as
Deputy Secretary in various departments of the
Govt of Sindh. In this grade, he also served in
Makkah as Deputy Director Hajj/Second Secretary,
Consulate General of Pakistan at Jeddah under
Ministry of Religious Affairs.
In 1993, he got his promotion to Grade 19 and was
posted as Additional Commissioner-I, Sukkur. He
also held the post of Chief Inspector and
Collector of Stamps,
Board of Revenue, and Director Civil Defence, and
Additional Finance Secretary Sindh.
Later on, he was posted as the Chief
Administrator of the Sindh Auqaf Department and a Member of the
Sindh Services Tribunal.
