Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza - 2009

Zulfiqar Mirza, kit no. 6896/Liaquat House joined Cadet College Petaro in 1968 in 8th Class and left the college in 1973 after completing his Intermediate.

He was born on 12 January 1954 and is married to Dr. Fehmida Mirza, who became Speaker of the National Assembly. She belongs to the famous Kazi family and is the daughter of Kazi Abid and niece of Kazi Akbar.

Zulfiqar Mirza obtained his MBBS degree after leaving Petaro. However, he has been into politics most of his life along with his close friend from Petaro days - Asif Ali Zardari. He has been a member of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) all along.

During the 2008 elections, he was elected to the Sindh Provincial Assembly from PS-57 constituency. He was then appointed the Home Minister for Sindh soon thereafter and currently holds that portfolio. He also hold the portfolio for Prison, Forests and Wildlife.

He is also the owner and Chairman of the Mirza Sugar Mills in Badin, while his wife Dr. Fehmida Mirza is the CEO.
