Asad Ali Shah went on to become a Chartered
Accountant after leaving Petaro. He has been a
Senior Partner in the firm Yousuf Adil Saleem
Chartered Accountants. The firm is also known as
Deloitte Pakistan, representing the famous
international company Deloitte.
In 2008, he was elected the President of the
Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP).
He has been an active member of ICAP Council since
2001, and has been a member of various committees
including Investigation Committee, Examination
Committee, Quality Assurance Board (QAB), and
Committee on Financial Sector. He represented ICAP
at various international forums like International
Accounting Standards Board, South Asian Federation
of Accountants (SAFA), and UN group of experts on
accounting and financial reporting. He also
represented ICAP with national regulators and
participated in high level committees of the
government.
Asad Ali Shah has held different public offices in
the Government of Sindh. In the past, he has held
the portfolio of Advisor to the Chief Minister of
Sindh with the rank of a Provincial Minister.
At present, he is a key member of the Thar Coal
Energy Board.
He is often invited to be a speaker at important
national conferences.
