Anwar was recognized for his
leadership qualities and was appointed the JUO of
Ayub House in 1971-72. He also became the captain of the
College Hockey team during his last year at
Petaro. He was always good at sports.
After leaving Petaro, Anwar
Sher graduated from Quaid-e-Azam University,
Islamabad, and completed his MSc in International
Relations in 1976.
Anwar has been a very successful businessman in
the UAE. He was the Chief Executive Officer of the
Union National Bank, Abu Dhabi from 1991-1999,
with a responsibility to oversee the total
operations of the bank. He then formed his own
consulting company called Sher Consulting in 1999,
which he still operates.
In the meantime, he has also kept other business
interests as well. He was the Director of I&M
Galadari Group, UAE from 2004 to 2007, and has
been the Managing Director of Equine Management
Services
since 2007. They design, construct and operate
special equine projects, from entertainment to
pure sports, and at
times are investors as well.
