Ghulam Qadir is my batch mate (1964-1969), and he
was one of the large contingent of boys who were
taken into the college in 1967 due to the
expansion caused by construction of Iqbal and
Qasim Houses.
Soon after his graduation, he joined PIA in 1974
as a Flight Engineer in the Special Group. Over
the years, he became an Instructor and Inspector
on Boeing 707, Boeing 720-B, Airbus A-300, and
Boeing 747 aircraft. He was given several
management portfolios, and was eventually
appointed as Director for Human Resources and
Services in PIA.
After the election of the new government in 2008,
Ghulam Qadir was given the assignment of Director
General of National Commission for Employment and
HR Development.
It is an honour for
me to be the batch mate of Syed Ghulam Qadir Shah
