Vice
Admiral Noman Bashir
was the thirty first Chairman Board of
Governors of Cadet College Petaro from 2008-2008.
He is
married and blessed with two sons.
He
retired from the Pakistan Navy as Admiral
and Chief of Naval Staff

Noman
Bashir joined Pakistan Navy in 1971 and was commissioned
in the Operations Branch in 1973.
He
graduated from the Royal College of Defence Studies UK,
National Defence College (NDC) Islamabad, and Joint
Services Staff College Chaklala.
During
the course of his naval career, he commanded two
aviation squadrons, two ships (frigate and corvette) and
the Naval Aviation. He served on various Command and
Staff appointments including General Manager Operations
of Karachi Port Trust, Naval Attache to Sultante of
Oman, Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Operations),
Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Training), Cdre in
charge of Jinnah Naval Base, Commodore Training Ashore
(CTA), Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Project II),
Director General Naval Intelligence, Commander Pakistan
Fleet (COMPAK), and Commander Karachi (COMKAR)
In recognition to his
meritorious services, the admiral has received many
awards. He has been decorated with
Tamgha-e-Imtiaz(Military), Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military),
Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military), Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military)
and the Legion of Merit (USA).
Noman Bashir was promoted
to the rank of Rear Admiral in July 2003. He was then
promoted as Vice Admiral in July 2007.
In October 2008, he was
chosen to become the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) and was
made an Admiral. He retired from service in this
position in 2011.
While he was Commander
Karachi (COMKAR) during 2008, he was also the
Chairman of Board of Governors of
Cadet College Petaro.
