Over the years, Cadet
College Petaro has produced brilliant students who have proved their
worth not only within the college, but also obtained positions from
the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad in
the SSC (Matriculation) examination and in the HSSC (Intermediate)
examination. Many of these brilliant stars proceeded on to gain
laurels at institutions of higher education in Pakistan and abroad.

However, every achievement
starts out with a difficult start. So was it at Petaro. It is reported
that the first batch to appear for the SSC (Matriculation) examination
was in 1960. Of the 25 boys who appeared, 21 failed. (17-18 of these
boys then cleared the Supplementary Examination). This was a total
disaster for the college. It called for caution, introspection and
re-organization.
In 1963, the top two
positions in the Board in the Intermediate examinations were taken
by Petarians - Akhtar Ali Abbasi (1st) and Mirza Ashfaq
Baig (2nd). Petaro never looked back after that year
- gaining positions in the Board year after year almost since then.
A vast majority of the
cadets over these decades passed the Board examinations with a First
Division or an "A" Grade. Please
