Shafiq Channa
started his early education at Sehwan Sharif, and
the family moved to Hyderabad when he was in 2nd
class. They settled down in Resham Gali. He then
studied at Mardana Training College until 7th
class and then joined Govt. Cadet College
Mirpurkhas (later known as Cadet College Petaro)
in 8th class in 1957.
After passing out
from Petaro, Shafiq Channa joined Tandojam
Agriculture University from where he did his
bachelors. He then went on to get his M.A.
Economics from Sindh University in 1968.
Soon after his
graduation, he joined the newly created Population
Welfare Division at Hyderabad. At that time, it
was a semi-governmental institution. Later on it
became a division of the federal government.
His last position
was of Senior Instructor in Grade 19 (move over).
Unfortunately, he did not live to go beyond this,
and died at a very young age of 51. He had
been suffering from diabetes and was on dialysis.
Eventually, his kidneys failed and he left this
world.
His eldest son
Sheeraz is now working as a civil engineer at
the Buildings Department of Cadet College Petaro.
Both of his daughters are married and the younger
son Sarfaraz is a Telecom Engineer.
May Allah grant him
jannatul firdaus. |
