Jamil Ashraf completed his Matric at Cadet College
Hasan Abdal before moving to Petaro in 11th Class
in 1965. His younger brother Rashid Ashraf
598/Jinnah had already joined the college a year
earlier in 1964 in 8th class.
Although he was at Petaro for only 2 years, he
left his mark by being appointed the
JUO of Jinnah House in
1966-1967. He was a good sportsman and was a
member of the
Famous Forties in 1966. He was also appointed
the President of the
Aeromodelling
Club in his final year at Petaro.
After leaving Petaro, he completed his
engineering, and spent most of his career working
for the Oil and Gas Development Corporation - OGDC.
At the time of his death, he was an Instructor at
the OGDC Training Centre in I-9, Islamabad.
His wife, the late Dr. Rehana Jamil was a
well-known skin specialist in Islamabad. She
expired a year before his death.
