Adam Khan Laghari - 2008

Adam Khan Laghari, kit no. 7425/Jinnah House joined Cadet College Petaro in 1974 and left the college in 1979 after completing his Intermediate.

He was born on 22 December 1960, and got married to Dr. Asima. They had two sons - Haris (10 years old) and Muhammad Ahmed (8 years old).

He belonged to Goth Bukhsho Laghari, 35Km from Hyderabad.

Adam Laghari had gone to California in the late 1980s from where he completed his MBA. He was the Regional Secretary West (based in California) for the Sindh Association of North America (SANA) during 1989-1990. He was also one of the editors of Sangat World during those days.

He was a great philanthropist and had established the Adams Education & Health Foundation. He was running a free school for children in his village Goth Bukhsho Laghari under this foundation. He also built a room for the school in Sajan Village in UC Tando Fazal.

His wife Dr. Asima used to have her clinic in Mauripur in Karachi. They used to live at Boat Basin and the children were studying at Karachi.

Adam Laghari died on the spot on 23 July 2009 in a tragic accident along with his wife Dr. Asima and their 2 children when a speeding trailer with a 40' container fell on top of their car at the ICI Bridge in Karachi. The trailer was moving at very fast speed on top of the bridge and the driver lost control at a turning. It hit a light pole and fell off the bridge, landing on top of their car and smashing it completely.

Their bodies were taken to Hyderabad where they were buried at their ancestral village.

May Allah have mercy on their souls and grant them jannatul firdaus.
