During his final year at Petaro, he was the
President of the
Chemical Hobbies Club. He was also the
Vice President of the Bazm-e-Qirat and Vice
President of the Music Club. He was the Senior
Section Leader of Liaquat House, and a member of
the College Band as the lead piper.
After leaving Petaro, Saad obtained his B.Com.
degree from Govt. National College, Karachi in
1987. Subsequently, he qualified as ACMA from the
Institute of Cost and Management Accountants in
1992.
Saad started his career as Assistant Project
Supervisor in Mineral & Engineering Services (Pvt)
Ltd, Karachi in 1984 for a short period. His first
major venture was when he built his own enterprise
in 1988 called Al-Ashfaq Associates to work in
laying of pipelines (sewage and water),
construction of footpaths, boundary walls,
underground tanks, staff quarters, etc.
In 1991, he joined Pakistan Weaving (Pvt) Ltd as
Factory Manager of this unit which produced
knitted fabrics, being in charge of production
control, procurement, costing, factory
administration and HR. He then became the Manager
Administration in Mutual Trading Corporation in
1996. This company was a manufacturer and
trader of home textile products.
In 1998, he joined Pak Suzuki Motor
Company as Dy. Manager Procurement, and was
elevated to the position of Manager Finance a year
later. His responsibilities included overall
accounting, costing, budgeting, taxation, MIS,
system improvement and development.
He left Pak Suzuki in 2005 to join Modaraba
Al-Mali as General Manager. Modaraba Al-Mali is
part of JS Finance Ltd and a Jahangir Siddiqui
Group company. In this position, he successfully
launched tower infrastructure sharing business in
Islamabad Telecom Region under license from
Pakistan Telecom Authority.
Saad then joined BankIslami Pakistan Limited as Head of Auto
Ijarah and Housing Finance in 2007, and then later as
Head of Consumer Credit & Processing. During this
period, he launched the housing finance scheme
"Muskun", and was responsible for the auto ijarah
scheme and collections / recoveries.
When BankIslami took over major control of
Modaraba Al-Mali in 2008, Saad was promoted to
become the Chief Operating Officer of this
Modaraba. He is responsible for overall operations
and businesses of Modaraba Al-Mali including Tower
Infrastructure Sharing business, and Maintenance
and Refuelling Services business under brand name
"The Energixers".
He presently lives in Karachi.
