The Petarian Code of Conduct

A Cadet of Cadet College Petaro - called a Petarian:

  • Is a Gentleman of sterling character, transparent conduct, pure and pious.

  • Speaks the truth, nothing but truth, and the whole truth.

  • Is equipped with the twin virtues of honest thought and chaste uprightness.

  • Is calm and cool and is not hit by violent bursts of passion and emotions.

  • Is sober serene and sublime.

  • Is conscious that orders from above and obedience from below is the be all and end all of military service.

  • Is punctual to a second, efficient to the core, painstaking to the hilt.

  • Is well-versed in discipline, decency, decorum and deportment, the metaphors and smile of his existence.

  • Inculcates the fine attributes of initiative, drive and dash.

  • Faces boldly with iron determination and a firm will, the horrors of the deep and the terrors of the skies.

  • Is large-hearted, broad-minded and magnanimous.

  • Performs his duties without fear or favour, but with fervour.

  • Develops the fine attributes of spiritual detachment from material attachments.

  • Prays from the deepest chambers of his heart beseeching Divine Beneficence, Benevolence and Mercy.

  • Is not desirous of titles, power and deceit, but is grounded in the science and art of self-effacement

  • Dives deep for precious pearls of wisdom and knowledge, and does not float over the surface.

  • Marches forward through thick and thin, in the accompaniment of martial music of his heart, for the realization of his goal.

  • Is conspicuous by his presence in a social station and yet also conspicuous by his absence as an individual.

  • Is not only an intelligent student of his alma mater but also a diligent student of the university of life.

  • Rises Everest-high far above the petty, deplorable, dangerous and obnoxious considerations of provincialism, parochialism, sectarianism and what-not isms.

  • Understands that culture means a balanced development of moral and intellectual qualities and not dancing and drumming.

  • Loves his motherland with unflinching loyalty

The Cadets of Cadet College are the Ornaments and Armaments of Pakistan. They should know that:

  • The crown and glory of life is character.

  • An honest man is the noblest work of the Lord Almighty.

  • He is not fit to live who is not fit to die; and he his not fit to die who shirks from the duty of life.

  • Life means enormous challenge, hard struggle, great labour, risk and competition, battles and wars.

  • The charm and meaning of life lie in trying to attain the unattainable.

  • how dull it is to pause, to make an end, to rust unburnished, not to shine in use.

  • The is yet to be.

  • Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is reached.

  • You may be beaten at first, you may have to wait, but the courage that endures and is undaunted generally at last prevails.

  • They never fall who fall in a good cause.

  • Patience is the plaster for all sores.

  • More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of.

  • One who stops praying stops growing.

  • He lacks most who longs most.

  • Make your claim of wages zero, the world shall be under your feet.

  • Man is not made of dust only, but possesses a spark of the Divine light.

  • Self-reverence, self-knowledge, self-control lead life to sovereign power.

  • Genius connotes capacity to take infinite pains.

  • Man is the captain of his soul, master of his mind and the architect of his own fate.

  • The world is a comedy to those who think, a tragedy to those who feel.

  • Time is the stuff of which life is made.

  • Procrastination is the thief of time.
