The students are housed
in 7 hostels named after key personalities of the history of Pakistan
and the sub-continent:
In the early years of
the college, these were referred to as "Houses". However, in 1989,
the college administration which had been under the control of the
Pakistan Navy decided to rename the "House" as a "Division" in line with
the tradition in the Navy. The staff member supervising the house
had in previous years been called a House Master and his assistant
was known as Assistant House Master. They were re-titled as
Divisional Officer and Assistant Divisional Officer in 1989.
In
2003, the Board of Governors of the college decided to go back to
the original tradition of the college by reverting from "Division" to "House".
The terms "House", "House Master" and "Assistant House Master" is in use once again. |
