Mr. Liaquat Ali Shah

Mr. Liaquat Ali Shah is currently
Librarian at Cadet College Petaro since 1994.
He was born on 1 May
1963 at Nausheroferoze and got married to Mrs. Fauzia
Sayed on 19 May 1995. They have 2 sons and 4 daughters -
Armeeza, Aleeza, Simra, Mishawaz, Anzalna, and Idraak.
Shah
Sb belongs to a Shia family of Nausheroferoze. His
forefathers came from Iran and settled down in Nasarpur,
from where they spread all over Sindh. Among his
ancestors, one brother settled down in Khairpur, and the
other one in Mirpurkhas, who then moved to
Nausheroferoze.
Shah Sb has six
brothers and two sisters.

Liaquat Ali Shah was
born and brought up in Nausheroferoze. His primary
education was at Khalifa G. Shabbir Primary School, and
middle school at Govt. Middle High School Nausheroferoze
from where he completed his Matric in 1978. He then
completed his H.Sc. from Govt. Mehran Degree College
Moro in 1980, and a B.A. from the same college in 1982.
He then moved to University of Sindh and specialized in
Library Science, with a B.LSc. and M.LSc. degree in
1988.
His first job was
with the Govt. of Sindh as Junior Secondary Teacher
between 1985-1991. He taught at various schools in
Hyderabad District for classes 6-10. Between 1991-1993,
he joined the Ibrat Group of Publications, Hyderabad as
Editor for editing all literary material published by
the group.
He then joined Cadet
College Petaro in 1994 as Librarian. He was promoted to
rank of Associate Officer In Charge of the Library from
2000 to 2002 and as Officer In Charge of the Library
from 2002 onwards.
From 2000 onwards,
Mr. Liaquat Ali Shah has been playing a very important
role for the college. He was at first also given the
duties of Associate Officer In Charge of
Lands from 2000 to 2009. He was then made Officer In Charge of Lands
and Legal Matters from 2009 onwards. He was also
the Assistant PRO from 1995-2003 and the PRO from
2004-2008.
In
his position as the PRO and Officer in Charge of Lands,
Mr. Liaquat Ali Shah played a pivotal role in
regularizing the land ownership of the more than 700
acres of college land with the Sindh Revenue Dept and
with the Courts. He left no stone unturned in ensuring
that land grabbers false claims against Petaro were
proven wrong. He worked for the sake of the long term
benefit of the institution with due diligence. His work along with the Principal
Cdre. Abid Saleem
in this regard is monumental. This has earned a special
place for Mr. Liaquat Ali Shah in the history of the
college.
In 2007, he was given
the Best Staff Officer award. He was given a shield by
President Musharraf on the eve of the Golden Jubilee
Celebrations in 2007, and a shield by Principal Cdre.(R)
M. Abid Saleem for best performance in resolving the
land issues of the college.
Shah Sb is also quite
a writer. He is the author of two books. The first one
was "Oondah Mein Rakhyal Aeeno" (The mirror kept in
darkness - a collection of Sindhi stories) published by
Roshni Publications Hyderabad in 2009. This book was
given the best book award by the Sindhi Language
Authority of Hyderabad. His second book is "Bha sau
teteeh" (short Sindhi stories) published by The Creators
Hyderabad in 2011. He has also written and published
numerous literary articles in various Sindhi and Urdu
magazines. Another novel is now under print.
He also attended the
Interactive Teachers' Training Program at Islamabad
organized by Petarian Foundation in 2005.
