Prof. Sayed Anwar Ali Shah

Prof. Syed Anwar Ali Shah joined the college in
1977 as lecturer of Biology. He retired from the
college in Feb 2012. In his last position he was the
Vice Principal of the College and Professor of
Biology.
He was born on 2 February 1952 at Jacobabad, Sindh and got married to Mrs.
Khalida Imam on 15 November 1978. They have four
children - Dr. Jawwad Ali Shah 92141/Ayub, Ahmed
Ali Shah 93103/Jinnah, Dr. Sana, and Abdul Samad
Ali Shah 9949/Jinnah.

Shah Sb's father was in Pakistan Army as a
captain, and then later on went into private
business.
He
acquired his primary education from class 1 to
Matric from Hamidia High School, Jacobabad. He
completed his Matric in 1968. He then moved to
Govt College Jacobabad from where he completed his
FSc in 1970.
Moving to Karachi for his higher education, he
obtained B.Sc. Hons degree from Karachi University
in 1973, and M.Sc. in Zoology from the same
university in 1975.
Soon after his graduation, he worked initially for
Baluchistan University, and then moved to
Islamabad where he started his career as Technical
Assistant (NVP) with the Ministry of Education in
1975.
After two years of professional experience, he joined Cadet College Petaro in
1977 as a Lecturer. He was promoted to the rank of
Assistant Professor in 1988 and as a full
Professor in 2002. Upon the retirement of
Prof. Haji Ahmed Sahib
in Feb 2011, Prof. Anwar Ali Shah became the
Eleventh Vice Principal of the college.
During his Petaro
days,
was the House Master of
Ayub House from 1989 to 1991, and House Master
of Liaquat House from
1996-1997. He was also the
Patron of the
Biological Collection Society from 2000-2003,
and Patron of the Macramé Making Club in the early
1980s.
He has held various
other administrative positions at the college over
the years. He has been the House Coordination
Officer, Officer In Charge Examinations for Board,
Officer In Charge Buildings Dept and Woodworks
Dept (Kekar wood project), and Chairman of the
Purchase Committee.
He retired from the
college as Vice Principal in February 2012 and was
succeeded by Prof. J.N.
Rahi.
