Hafiz Muhammad Yaqoob Siddiqui joined Cadet College Petaro
as
lecturer of Islamic Studies in 1979 and left the
college in 1982.
He was
born on 1 October 1949 at Tando Allahyar, and got
married to Mrs. Iffat Ara Begum on 12 April 1975. They
have 4 children - Saima, Zakaria, Naila and Nida.
His
younger brother is Petarian Muhammad Waseem Siddiqui,
kit no. 8163/Ayub.

Hafiz Yaqoob belongs
to a family of Islamic scholars from Muzaffarnagar in
UP. His father's elder brother was Maulana Idrees
Kandhilvi, who was Shaykhul Hadith at Jamia Ashrafia,
Lahore. Maulana Idrees' son Maulana Muhammad Malik
Kandhilvi succeeded his father in the same position.
Hafiz Yaqoob's father was also an alim.
Therefore, the very
first education that he acquired was in the Qur'an. He
completed complete memorization (hifz) of the Qur'an at
an early age and then joined Darul Uloom Tando Allahyar
from where he completed his Dars-e-Nizami. This was
followed by completing his matriculation from Model
School, Tando Allahyar and Intermediate and BA from
Model College, Mirpurkhas. He then sat for MA
examination in Islamic Culture privately and obtained
the degree from University of Sindh.
Hafiz Sb started his
teaching career early - right after completing his
Matric - when he joined Shah Waliyullah Public School
Mirpurkhas as a teacher. He continued teaching while he
completed his Intermediate and BA.
Moving to Hyderabad,
he then joined the Teacher Training College as lecturer
of Islamic Studies. In 1979, he quit this job and joined
Cadet College Petaro as Lecturer of Islamic Studies.
When Pakistan Steel
Cadet College was established in 1982, he moved from
Petaro to this new college as teacher of Islamic
Studies, and retired from there eventually as Asst.
Professor. He took early retirement due to health and
cardiac problems.
Since then he has
been leading a retired life in Karachi.
