Prof. Ahmed Ghulam Rasool (popularly known as Haji
Ahmed) joined the college in 1975 as lecturer of
Mathematics. He was the tenth Vice
Principal of the college from 2005 to 2011.
He was born on 23 February 1951 at Hyderabad.
He got married to Mrs. Noorjehan on 29 September
1978, and they have four children - Irfan Ahmed
92140/Liaquat, Adnan
Ahmed, 9377/Iqbal, Nausheen and Faizan Ahmed
99113/Iqbal.

Haji Sb started his early
education at HRH Aga Khan Primary School in Hyderabad
where he studied up to class 4. He then joined Noor
Mohammad High School Hyderabad and completed his Matric
in 1967.
He got admission to
Government College Hyderabad thereafter, and completed
his Intermediate in 1969 and B.Sc. in 1971 from that
institution. He went on to complete his M.Sc. in
Mathematics from University of Sindh in 1973.
His first job was as a
teacher of Mathematics at Govt. High School Talhar from
1973-1974. During the following year (1974-75), he
worked as Subject Specialist with the National
Development Volunteer Program (NDVP). He then joined
Cadet College Petaro in 1975 and is still at Petaro.
Soon after he joined
Petaro, Shahbaz House was formed, and he was appointed
Assistant House Master for a year (1975-1976). Shahbaz
House used to be in the Ante Room of Jinnah House in
those days. In 1981-1982, he served as the Assistant
House Master of Qasim House.
From 1982-1988, he was
made the Messing Officer. The following year, he was
appointed the House Master of
Qasim House, which
he served from 1989-1994.
He was promoted to the
position of Assistant Professor in June 1981, and as
Professor in 1996.
Amongst other
responsibilities that he was given at different times,
he was the Officer In Charge of Board and Internal
Examinations, Central Stores, and Time Table.
Haji Ahmed Sb served as
the House Coordination Officer to oversee the
coordination between all the 7 houses from 2001 to 2005.
Then in 2005 he was promoted to the position of Vice
Principal and Director of Studies at the college.
He finally retired from
service at Petaro as Vice Principal in February 2011
after 36 years of service.
Keeping in view his
services, the college has hired him again after
retirement as Professor Emeritus of Mathematics on contract basis.
