Mr. Hassan Sajjad was
lecturer of Urdu Language at Cadet College Petaro from
1967-1975.
He was born on 20
December 1945,
and got married to Mrs. Afroz on 20 December 1970 while he was at Petaro. They have
three sons - Ali Raza, Ailya Hassan (now Lt.Cdr.), and
Asif Hassan.

Mr. Hassan Sajjad completed
his Matric from St. Patrick's High School in Rawalpindi in
1960. He then completed his Intermediate in 1962 and his BA in
1964 from Govt. College Rawalpindi. He then went to Dhaka in
East Pakistan and obtained his M.A. in Urdu from Dhaka
University under scholarship.
Returning to West Pakistan,
his first job was as Lecturer of Urdu at Cadet College Petaro
from 1967 to 1975. During his stay at Petaro, he was initially
assigned the position of Associate House Master of Liaquat
House from 1967-1973. He then also served as the House Master
of Qasim House from 1973-1975. He
was also the Patron of the
Urdu Debating Club from 1967-1969.
After leaving Petaro, he
moved back to Islamabad and joined Federal Govt. College
Islamabad as Lecturer in Urdu in 1975. He took premature
retirement from there in 2003 while he was an Associate
Professor.
Moving to Karachi, he then
joined the Army Public College in Saddar in 2003 and worked
there as a professor of Urdu until 2009. Since then, he has
been working at Fatimiyah College, Karachi as professor of
Urdu.
Hassan Sajjad Sb has been
involved in academic and literary activities all his life. He
has written hundreds of articles that have been published in
the daily newspaper Jang, Rawalpindi in its Literary Section.
He has also published articles in Na'i Qadren (Hyderabad),
Nairang-e-Khayal (Rawalpindi), Roshna'i (Karachi) and other
magazines.
Between 1962 and 2003, he
was associated with Radio Pakistan and was involved in
hundreds of its programs. These included compering of
programs, book reviews, interviews of personalities and
feature writing.
His interest with the media
got him involved also with Pakistan TV between 1990 and 2000
when he lectured for educational programs which were
associated with Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU). |
