Prof. Iqbal Khan joined the college in
1981 as Lecturer of Physics and retired as
Professor and Head of Dept of Physics in 2007.
He was born on 3 November 1947 at Ajmer Sharif in
India and got married to Mrs. Ismat on 1 January
1978. They have three sons - Lareb 92145/Jinnah
House, Shahzeb 95109/Jinnah House and Jahanzeb
2k127/Jinnah House.
He is presently
settled down in Hyderabad.

His
father was in the Indian Railways. Within a month of his
birth, the family migrated to Pakistan and settled down
in Hyderabad.
Iqbal
sb had his entire schooling at Noor Mohammed High School
in Hyderabad. He completed his Matric in 1966 and then
joined Sachal Science College, Hyderabad from where he
did his Intermediate in 1968. He graduated with a B.Sc.
from Govt. College Hyderabad in 1970 and and M.Sc. in
Physics from Sindh University in 1972.
His
first job was as a teacher of Physics at Mirza Qaleej
Baig School for less than a year. He then moved to
Quetta and joined the Govt. College there as Lecturer.
He remained in Quetta until 1980.
Finally in 1981, he was selected at Cadet College Petaro
as Lecturer in Physics. He remained at Petaro for the
rest of his career until his retirement in 2007.
During his stay at Petaro,
he was the
Divisional Officer (House
Master) of Qasim Division
from 1994-2000. Prior to that, he was the Assistant House
Master of Jinnah House. He was the Patron of the
Artisans and Flower Making
Club and the Science
Modelling Club in the 1980s. He was also In Charge of the
Electricity Dept at Petaro.
When
M.P. Durrani Sb became Vice
Principal in 1997, Iqbal Sb succeeded him as Head of
Department of Physics - a position he retained until his own
retirement.
Prof. Iqbal Khan
participated in the Interactive Teacher Training Program
held by the Petarian Foundation in Islamabad in 2005.
Iqbal
sb has had a neurological problem on the left side of
his face, which has become more acute over the years.
Therefore since his retirement from Petaro, he has
chosen to lead a truly retired life at his home in
Hyderabad. His condition does not allow him to do any
other work. May Allah grant him relief from this
condition.
